Lovely location, great views and very helpful staff. Tasteful decor, tasty breakfast. Huge indoor pool. Magnificent grounds. Good food at restaurant.
Gym not as well equipped as expected and steam room did not always work. Tea and coffee in rooms would have been a nice added touch. Fishing equipment inadequate - although this is mentioned as an activity, it is offered in a rather half -hearted manner.
Hotel set in a location with stunning views. Wide range of delicious food served in the restaurant until late at night. Hotel leisure facilities excellent especially swimming pool. Children made to feel very welcome with a Kids Club and other complimentary leisure activities available.
Would grade this hotel as a very good 4 star but not 5 star. No tea and coffee making facilities in room - needed to ask for kettle and then charged for tea and coffee. Sofa bed in room very uncomfortable. In family room bathroom door would not lock. Needed to ask for the bottle of complimentary water available in room fridge. Skirting board around bathroom door kept falling off. Food and drinks although very good were over-priced. Needed to ask for extra towels for leisure facilities - none available in pool area. Kids fishing rods were broken.
It is a grand hotel in a majestic setting, relaxed and friendly
The food was average quality and very expensive for the meal received. My memory of the hotel previously was the food was outstanding. Breakfast was fine but rather standard for the level of hotel. Dinner was disappointing and poor value for money.
Comfort, big choice for breakfast, good location, quite room, good size of swimming pool, nice changing room for ladies with towels, nice view from the windows, large balcony, many places in the hotel to seat and read
It was no tea facilities in the familily room, the floor in the bathroom and shower room was not clean
Location and the apartment and bar staffs.
It was a long wait to have a table for dinner.
How child friendly it was. The weather card left in your room to let you know the forecast for the following day with complimentary chocolate.
Would have liked childrens channels on tv.
Horses on site are fantastic and staff in the kids club are very friendly.
. No entertainment of any kind on the evenings during the week. Kids club was good but limited and was only on from 10/12 and 6/9. I have 3 young kids and found the times not suitable, as there was no late option. We travelled with another party and we both had major issues with are bills upon check out. Found some staff very unfriendly and lacking everyday manners.
Location, comfort levels in room, peaceful
Poor internet connectivity, very disappointing experience in Garden cafe on last night, the leisure complex does not reflect a 5 star experience
I liked the view. The horse riding attracted me to the Dunloe. The staff were lovely.
The horse riding track was way too short.
Everything! Fabulous food, spectacular view from the bedroom, relaxed atmosphere - every need catered for and more
No tea/coffee making facilities in the superior room
View of mountains and field of horses, sheep was beautiful. Loved the free horseback riding. Great playground for the kids. Nice massage. Good indoor pool.
Room decor and furniture needs to be updated. Would need another dining option if we were staying longer than 1 night.
The hotel grounds were breathtaking. We walked a large portion of it and saw the castle ruins, fished on the lake, enjoyed seeing the horses and sheep. We chose a superior view room and had a balcony looking out directly over the Gap of Dunloe. The hotel itself was beautiful. The staff were friendly and efficient. A very nice buffet breakfast was included in the room rate.
The directions to arrive here were very poor. We asked for directions 4 times. Many locals had never heard of Gap Road or this hotel. It was frustrating after a long drive here from Doolin. Also, we had booked a Superior Room with a view of the Gap through Booked.net but the hotel had us in a standard garden room when we arrived. Thankfully they were not busy in May and were able to revise our room.
The decor, the pool, the family room, the pony trekking and the breakfast service all excellant
Beautiful setting lovely comfortable room, ambiance, relaxing.
Service very fragmented, maybe to do with hotel just reopening. Meal in informal restaurant very poor, not five star quality service appalling numerous apologies were made by staff almost three hours to have a simple meal. Very disappointed. No tea/coffee facility in room had to request same
Excellent customer service. But my Booked.net reservation did not show up on their system, even though I had it booked for months. It all worked out brilliantly though, because we were upgraded to a suite room. Which was out of this world!
